This ring features a floating gallery, which gives the eye-catching effect that the bottom of the stone is suspended in mid-air. Because the bottom of the stone is not encased in prongs, we recommend soldering this engagement ring with a traditional pavé wedding band (if you choose one) to prevent the sides of the diamonds in the band from scratching the bottom of your engagement ring stone. This type of damage is very rare, and most likely to happen with French pavé or chunky eternity bands with large stones - we're just letting you know because we're neurotic like that.
